Farm estate sleeping 6 in Umbria
The territory of the Nese's valley has been populated since the ancient age. Small bronze figures of 4-6 cm of an ancient population called Villanoviana going back to the 8th century BC,have been founded on the slopes of monte Acuto. From the 4th untill the 1st century BC, Etruscans lived in this valley, as proven by the hypogeum of Sagraia and by the rest of the fortified village of Bellona located on the top of the Murlo mountain. In the middle age, the old crossing place at the farm of Casa Bruciata used to link the Duchy of Tuscany with the Papal State. The 350 hectare farm overlooks the charming Nese valley and is surrounded by great chestnut trees, marvellous ancient oaks, olive trees and ponds which render the farm an oasis of peace and tranquillity.
Originally a fortress in the 13th century, the farm was completely destroyed by fire during a siege in the second half of the 14th century, hence its name "Casa Brucaiata".
During the 15th century it was rebuilt as was the nearby village. The recent reconstruction has retained the original architectural features and has restored the farm to its ancient splendour. Today Casa Bruciata is divided into seven wonderful and beautifully furnished apartments
